Direct Aid International and Africa Education and Development Trust signed an agreement on 15th January 2018 for Umma University Students support program which will grant students studying or wish to study at Umma University interest free study loan.

Umma University signs MOU with Omdurman Islamic University
On the 14th December 2017, Umma University Ag. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohamed Karama signed an MOU with the Vice-Chancellor of Omdurman Islamic University Prof. Hassan Abbas Hassan in support of staff and student exchange, research cooperation, joint scientific meetings, exchange of academic information, and sharing of information on programmes, plans and activities.

Dr. Ali Adan Ali is Director of Research, Innovation and Outreach of Umma University. Dr. Ali graduated with a PhD. in Environmental and Biosystem Engineering from University of Nairobi in 2009 and Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Denmark Technical University in 2002. Dr. Ali attended specialized training in environmental management in the tropics, a programme supported by Danish Universities Consortia for Environment and Development with industry under DANIDA. He has also attended a number of training in grant proposal writing at various universities and institutions. Dr. Ali has worked with National Museums of Kenya from 1998 to 2014, where he gained rich knowledge in heritage resources management, environmental conservation and safety training. He is a registered environmental consulting scientist with National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for over 14 years.  He also supervised and mentored Masters and PhD students because of his rich wealth of knowledge and experience in the fields environmental and biosystems engineering for over 14 years. Dr. Ali has authored various scientific communications and papers in the peered reviewed journals and participated in a number of conferences, workshops and seminars locally and internationally. Research areas of interest include climate change, natural resources management, ecosystems conservation, biodiversity, environmental education, sustainable development, waste management and technology, Environmental management and community support systems.  Dr. Ali can be reached via email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Mr. Mohamed H. Omar
, is a Research Fellow in the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Outreach of Umma University. He holds Master of Science (Chemistry) from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM)–Saudi Arabia and Bachelor of Science Degree (Applied Chemistry) from International University of Africa–Sudan. Currently he is pursuing PhD-Chemistry at University of Nairobi. Mr. Mohamed has worked as Research Assistant at Chemistry Department-KFUPM and as Research Scientist (Chemist) at Research Institute-KFUPM. His research areas include green chemistry, nanotechnology, water treatment techniques and green synthesis of nanomaterial. Mr. Mohamed enjoys wide experience in analytical instrumentations.
