Umma University signs agreement with Africa Education and Development Trust
Direct Aid International and Africa Education and Development Trust signed an agreement on 15th January 2018 for Umma University Students support program which will grant students studying or wish to study at Umma University interest free study loan.

Umma University signs MOU with Omdurman Islamic University
On the 14th December 2017, Umma University Ag. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohamed Karama signed an MOU with the Vice-Chancellor of Omdurman Islamic University Prof. Hassan Abbas Hassan in support of staff and student exchange, research cooperation, joint scientific meetings, exchange of academic information, and sharing of information on programmes, plans and activities.

Mandates
Directorate of Research, Collaboration, Partnerships and Linkages, of Umma University is mandated to undertake the following-
  1. To coordinate and implement research, innovations and partnerships policies;
  2. To coordinate and implement of all agreements and collaborations;
  3. To plan, coordinate and implement the University research programmes and projects;
  4. To provide leadership for knowledge dissemination activities including research findings, conferences, workshops, seminars and symposium;
  5. To coordinate publications activities of the University;
  6. To support, coordinate and undertake community outreach services;
  7. To enforce research ethics policies, standards and practices;
  8. To undertake any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
RESEARCH PROGRAMMES/PROJECTS
Umma University understand that research have crucial roles to play in developing differentiated and effective academic systems. Research and development is the only vehicle and language that could transform and develop institutions, societies and governments.
With its robust research agenda, Umma University believes that it can effectively contribute to knowledge, skills and experience building in the field of Islamic finance, Islamic Sharia, Islamic studies, ICT, business management, health sciences and education. The University is the leading hub of knowledge of Islam with respect to contemporary issues faced by humanity.
Therefore, the University is strategically position in the region to intellectually contribute to the local, regional and global development agenda of the humanity. For example, Kenya realization of Vision 2030, development blue print capable of making Kenya a middle-income country, Umma University contribute to the higher order intellectual development that will make Kenya join the global knowledge society, characterized with competiveness, and sustainability in sophisticated knowledge economies.
