The vision of Umma University library is to be the centre of excellence in the provision of information resources and an indispensable partner in teaching, learning, research, consultancy and outreach services of the university
The mission of the library is to provide and promote access to quality information necessary to support the university’s teaching, learning, research and community service functions.
The Building
We have two libraries one in Kajiado and one Thika
Thika Campus Library
The library floor area is 900 m2 Sitting capacity is 250, The  Library can support over 900 students. Space include:
Reading areas
Reading carrels
Stack and display area
Special collection
Digital Library
•    Multimedia Room
•    Discussion Rooms
•    Seminar Room
•    Administration offices
Kajiado Campus Library
It has a sitting capacity of 60 users. 
Both libraries are well stocked with learning and research Information resources which are in both English and Arabic languages. The resources are both in electronic and print media with over 20000 volumes both in English and Arabic.
Print information resources are organized using the Library of Congress Classification System All the library processes are fully computerized using the KOHA Library Management System. The library subscribes to E-Granary, an electronic database which has millions of titles which are both current and very relevant to the University programmes.
Umma University Library is also a member of Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) which enables the Library to have access to millions of electronic journal articles through the various databases that KLISC subscribes to including INASP and other electronic databases e.g Emarald, EBSCO etc.
Digital Libraries
Our digital library is equipped with 38 computers in Kajiado; 23 computers in Thika The E-resources can be accessed through this Digital libraries. We have free internet services both cabled and wireless.

Monday to Friday:-  8.00 AM to 10.00PM
Saturdays:-  9.00 AM to 5.00 PM
Sundays and Public holidays:-   Closed.
